- Our fabric is made from 100% recycled plastic bottles! It is incrediby sturdy and feels like a combination between cotton and nylon. Most people remark that it is much softer than they'd imagined and that it's incredible that it was once plastic bottles.
- The process starts with the used plastic bottles that you and others have bring to recycling centers. The plastic bottles are sorted by color and chopped into flake about the size of large confetti. From here the flake is heated until it liquifies and it is then extruded through a spinneret (something like a shower head) to create fibers. The fibers are then used to make all kinds of fabrics such as the one used for Earthchic bags!
- Approximately 10 plastic bottles are used for each Earthchic bag.
